Joseph Davies, Age 19
Private, 10526, 5th Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry.
Joseph was the son of Mr Davies of 13 Langley Terrace, Dawley.
He was actually living in Madeley at the time of his enlistment in the first month of the war (August l 914), before which he had been employed as a miner at the Kemberton Colliery.
Joseph died of wounds on July 31st 1915 and lies buried at Poperinghe New Military Cemetery Plot I. Row C. Grave 1.

Joseph’s parents were James and Elizabeth A, and in 1911 Joseph was living at 58 The Aqueduct Road, Madeley,
Elizabeth died in 1904 and James remarried, Joseph’s pension was being paid to his step mother Annie
Elizabeth Davis at 13 Langley Terrace, Dawley.
